Advertising firm Rocket & Wink clinches Comdirect account and launches initial marketing campaign

In a bold move to redefine banking, Comdirect, a brand of Commerzbank, has unveiled a new advertising campaign that sets a colorful sign for diversity and handmade creativity. The campaign, which was first reported in Campaign Germany, was initiated by the Hamburg-based creative agency Rocket & Wink, who won the pitch for the Comdirect brand appearance.

Head of Marketing for Private and Business Customers at Commerzbank, Nasrin Shaikh, stated that the creative implementation of the campaign, in collaboration with Rocket & Wink, visualizes the Comdirect experience in a unique way. The spots were directed by Christian Schilling and produced by Cobblestone.

The campaign features four spots, each showcasing people using Comdirect products in their daily lives. Unlike some of Rocket & Wink's previous work, the Comdirect campaign is more subdued, reflecting the desire of bank customers for independent, flexible, and individual financial decision-making.

The set in each spot transforms into one of four brand colours - turquoise, pink, purple, or yellow - during the application. This transformation is not created with AI, but is handmade, aligning with the conscious handmade approach of the campaign. The founders of Rocket & Wink, who always appear in masks, have ensured that the campaign fits well with their style.

Comdirect also implemented a comic parody with the digital agency Elbdudler. Other advertising materials such as digital CLPs, billboards, stickers, giveaways, and live communication will supplement the campaign. The cooperation with the Icon League was accompanied by the agency Fraser in an advertising capacity.

Recently, Comdirect, in collaboration with Kreuzbergkind, set a colorful sign for diversity at the Hamburg CSD. The Comdirect campaign will be played on digital platforms, marking a significant step towards digital transformation in the banking sector. Rocket & Wink, who are not typically known for creating TV commercials, have proven their versatility with this campaign. The collaboration between the agency and Comdirect is a testament to the power of creative partnerships in shaping the future of advertising.
