Dr. Martens Appoints Carla Murphy as Chief Brand Officer

Dr. Martens, the iconic footwear brand, has announced a significant change in its leadership team. Carla Murphy, previously Global Senior Vice President and General Manager for Adidas Outdoor at Adidas AG, has been appointed as the Chief Brand Officer of Dr. Martens, effective from July 1.

Murphy will be based in the company's London offices and will drive brand strategy and creative direction. In her new role, she will oversee multiple divisions including global marketing and sustainability.

The appointment comes after Dr. Martens has been without a creative director since January, following the departure of Darren McKoy. Kenny Wilson, the former CEO of Dr. Martens, was replaced by Ije Nwokorie in the same month.

Nwokorie, who was previously the Chief Brand Officer, has been promoted to CEO at Dr. Martens. The brand has also made several senior leadership hires on the brand and creative side, including Neil Cummings, Emma Howarth, Adam Owen, and Paul Bowyer.

In a statement, Murphy expressed her excitement about joining Dr. Martens, calling it an iconic brand with a loyal consumer base. She looks forward to contributing to the brand's continued success and growth.

On a separate note, Dr. Martens will report its 2025 fiscal year results on Thursday. The brand has not announced any new appointments for the position of President of Americas, but Paul Zadoff has been hired for the role in the past.

As Dr. Martens continues to evolve and grow, the appointment of Carla Murphy as Chief Brand Officer marks an exciting new chapter for the brand. With her extensive experience in the industry, she is well-positioned to lead Dr. Martens into the future.
