Adele Forbids Selfies During Las Vegas Shows
Adele has put a halt to her infamous selfies with fans and mingling amongst the crowds at her Caesars Palace concerts, due to her fear of contracting COVID-19. This news was shared with the audience on September 15 during a show at the Colosseum.
She expressed her usual curiosity, commenting how she would usually stop and chat with her fans, "absolutely stop and chat and all of that and hear all about your life and be the nosey person that I am". But this time, she revealed that she's "hanging on by a thread trying not to get COVID". It wasn't just any fear but something really close to home for Adele as she has seen her backing singer Amanda Brown miss several shows as she had to self-isolate after testing positive with the virus.
Adele further explained the situation, "Everyone that I know that I work with has f***ing COVID, so it's a miracle that I haven't had it yet." She also mentioned how she loves interacting with her fans but at this point, she's taking no chances.
It's not the first time COVID-19 has disrupted Adele's plans; she had to postpone the first leg of her "Weekends With Adele" residency in 2022, just a day before it was set to officially begin, as most of her crew had contracted the virus, delaying the delivery of important equipment. She made it clear that she wouldn't allow it to happen again.
These famous walks, while she performs the song "When We Were Young", have made headlines and can be found on various social media platforms. However, Adele felt it was necessary to avoid the risk of getting sick despite her fans' anticipation for these events.
Her residency is coming to an end, with the final show being on November 4. But The Mirror hinted at the possibility of Adele returning for another round.
