In the heart of North Hesse, a poignant tribute stands as a testament to the tragic loss of two lives. The light installation "86° WALTER HALIT" is a moving memorial dedicated to a CDU politician and an internet café owner, both of whom were victims of right-wing terror.

The illuminated lettering, designed and installed by artist Walter Halit, serves as a powerful reminder of these individuals who were taken too soon. The installation is a tribute to their memory, a beacon of hope in the darkness that engulfed their lives.

Sadly, both the CDU politician and the internet café owner were shot and killed in North Hesse. Their deaths were senseless acts of violence, a chilling reminder of the hatred that still exists in our society.

The light installation is more than just a memorial; it is a symbol of hope and resilience. It stands as a reminder that even in the face of darkness, we can find the strength to remember and honour those who were lost.

"86° WALTER HALIT" is not just a tribute to these individuals, but also to the idea that love and unity can triumph over hate and fear. It is a call to action, urging us to stand together against intolerance and to work towards a more inclusive and peaceful society.

As we walk past this powerful installation, let us remember the lives lost and the lessons learned. Let us honour their memory by continuing to fight against hatred and work towards a brighter future.
