Acura's RSX Prototype officially unveiled at Monterey Car Week on a global scale.

The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Acura, Honda's luxury brand, unveiled the RSX Prototype at Monterey Car Week. This new model marks a significant milestone in Acura's electrification strategy, being the first to be engineered in-house on the new Honda-developed EV platform.

The RSX Prototype's design language is a continuation of the Acura Performance EV Concept, showcasing a premium, performance-oriented SUV. The sporty coupe style emphasizes performance and aerodynamics, with a bold and distinctive front fascia that evolves the brand's Diamond Pentagon design language.

The Prototype's design takes full advantage of the next-generation EV platform, featuring an expressive coupe-like silhouette, powerful proportions, and high-tech details. The dramatic fastback roofline, deeply sculpted side surfaces, flush door handles, and integrated ducktail-style rear spoiler create a sense of speed.

The RSX Prototype's design pays homage to the second generation NSX with its full-width rear taillight. The Prototype is finished in "Propulsion Yellow Pearl" and will be displayed at Monterey Car Week.

Under the hood, the RSX promises a fun-to-drive and engaging experience. Powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive, the RSX boasts a sport-tuned suspension, low center-of-gravity, and Brembo brakes. What's more, the RSX can be used as mobile energy storage and can power a variety of devices.

The RSX Prototype was developed at the Honda brand Acura itself, at the flexible manufacturing facility in Ohio's Honda EV Hub. It will be built on the same production line as the Acura Integra.

Acura Creative Director Yasutake Tsuchida stated that the RSX will redefine the Acura brand around timeless beauty and a high-tech feel. The Prototype introduces a striking, separated-headlight design with sharp and slim Daytime Running Lights and low-mounted LED headlamps. "ACURA" splashed across the tailgate of the Acura RSX Prototype is displayed in a new font.

The RSX Prototype also introduces ASIMO OS, an exclusive new operating system designed to learn the preferences of the vehicle's owner.

The production version of the Acura RSX is expected to arrive in the second half of 2026. With its combination of performance, design, and innovative technology, the RSX is poised to redefine the luxury electric vehicle market.
