Actor Wotan Wilke Möhring replaces Elton in the show "Who knows?"
Who Knows What?, the popular quiz show on the first channel, is set to return on October 13, airing weekdays at 6:00 PM. The show has been a favourite with audiences for years, and this season promises to be no exception.
The ARD program director has announced Wotan Wilke Möhring as the new team captain, joining quizmaster Bernhard Hoecker. Möhring, known for his roles in the northern German Tatort, brings humor, knowledge, ambition, and enthusiasm to the team.
Bernhard Hoecker, who has been the quizmaster for many seasons, is excited about the new addition. He advised Möhring to "just have fun" and not to put pressure on himself. Hoecker believes that if Möhring approaches the show with a light heart, they will create an entertaining and enjoyable atmosphere for the audience.
Möhring is no stranger to the show, having been a guest several times before. In fact, Kai Pflaume, the show's host, considered Möhring the preferred candidate from the start. Pflaume was immediately convinced by Möhring's appointment, and Hoecker shared the same sentiment.
The 11th season of Who Knows What? achieved new record ratings with an average of 20.2 percent market share in the total audience and 14.6 percent in the 20-49 age group. With Möhring joining the team, the show is expected to maintain its popularity.
In addition to the regular weekday episodes, there will also be a special edition, Who Knows What? XXL, airing on Saturday before at 8:15 PM.
Elton, the former team captain, left the quiz team in April after ten years, seeking more time for himself, his family, and his friends. Möhring will be the second team captain alongside Hoecker.
Before becoming the new team captain on Who Knows What?, Möhring was an actor and musician by profession. His previous roles and his love for music are expected to add a unique flavour to the show.
Hoecker is looking forward to every episode with Möhring as the new team captain. Viewers can tune in to the first episode of the new season on October 13.
