Song Joong-ki is set to captivate audiences once again with his latest project, the JTBC series "My Youth." The show, which premieres on Friday, marks the actor's return to the genre of melodrama after nearly a decade.

In "My Youth," Song Joong-ki plays the role of Woo-hae, a florist who finds himself in a reunion romance with his former sweetheart. The series, directed by Lee Sang-yeop, known for "Yumi's Cells," is characterized as having a calm demeanor but is filled with wit and humor, likened to an 'introverted prankster.'

Song Joong-ki, who is primarily known for action and fantasy projects, has chosen to portray a more ordinary, everyday character in "My Youth." The actor filmed the series and admitted that it made his heart race. He views the pressure as a sense of responsibility to do well, acknowledging the pressure set by his previous success in "Reborn Rich" (2022), JTBC's second-highest-rated drama of all time.

However, Song Joong-ki does not dwell too much on results. Instead, he is excited about the script, which he describes as a work that made his heart flutter again.

Chun Woo-hee plays the character Jae-yeon, a team leader at an entertainment company in "My Youth." Lee Sang-yeop describes the series as a work that makes viewers ponder the extent of love in a relationship.

With its reunion romance theme, "My Youth" promises to be a heartfelt story about two former sweethearts who meet again years later and rekindle their bond. Song Joong-ki's return to melodrama and the intriguing plot make "My Youth" a series not to be missed.
