Actor Norman Reedus' son, Mingus, was apprehended in New York for physically attacking a female individual by forcefully throwing her to the ground, resulting in an assault charge.
Rising Model Mingus Reedus Accused of Assault for Second Time
Mingus Reedus, the son of actor Norman Reedus and supermodel Helena Christensen, has found himself in legal trouble once again. This time, he is accused of assaulting a woman in Manhattan, New York.
According to public records, Mingus resides in a swanky Chelsea apartment. The details surrounding the identity of the victim and any potential motive for the alleged assault remain undisclosed.
The incident occurred on Saturday morning, prompting a 911 call around 8:40 a.m. Officers responded to the West 16th Street apartment, where they found the victim, a 24-year-old woman, with a cut under her left eye. She claimed Mingus inflicted the injury during an argument.
Mingus was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and assault in the third degree. However, his lawyer argued that he should have qualified for "less responsibility" in the assault case.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Mingus has been accused of assault. In 2021, during the San Gennaro Festival in New York's Little Italy, he was involved in another alleged assault incident. Mingus pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in that case and was sentenced to five counselling sessions.
Despite these incidents, Mingus has shown interest in venturing into music. He has released five songs on Spotify since May 2022, with the latest two dropping on August 10.
The victim in the most recent incident expressed her wish for Mingus to "take more accountability" than the plea bargain offered. The assistant district attorney, however, stated no further accountability was required from Mingus.
As of now, there is no public information indicating that Mingus Lucien Reedus was charged with any crime before his most recent conviction. It is also unclear whether Mingus was taken to a hospital or to a NYPD office after the arrest. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in a stable condition.
This developing story will continue to unfold as more details become available.
