Actor Michael Madsen, renowned for his roles in 'Reservoir Dogs', passes away unexpectedly at the age of 67.
Actor Michael Madsen, best known for his iconic roles in Quentin Tarantino's films, passed away at the age of 67 on Thursday morning at his home in Malibu, California.
Born on September 25, 1957, Madsen began his acting career in the early 1980s with his first lead part in the 1982 movie "Against All Hope," directed by Edward T. McDougal. Over the years, he built an impressive resume, with over 300 credits on his IMDB page.
Madsen was married three times. His first wife was actor Georganne LaPiere, who worked on "General Hospital" from 1987 to 1988. He later married actress Jeannine Bisignano in 1991, with whom he had two sons, Christian and Max. The couple divorced in 1995. Madsen then married actress DeAnna Madsen in 1996, and the couple had three sons together—Calvin, Luke, and Hudson. Sadly, Hudson died by suicide in 2022.
In the last two years, Madsen had been working on independent films such as "Resurrection Road," "Concessions," and "Cookbook for Southern Housewives." His roles in Tarantino's films were particularly memorable, including Mr. Blonde/Vic in "Reservoir Dogs," Budd (a.k.a. Sidewinder) in both "Kill Bill" movies, Sheriff Hackett on "Bounty Law," the show within a film in "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood," and Joe Gage in "The Hateful Eight."
Madsen's publicist, Liz Rodriguez, believes that he died of a heart attack. His sister, actor Virginia Madsen, posted a collage of pictures of him on Instagram on Thursday.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2018, Madsen described his fame as a complex and multifaceted experience. He acknowledged that he had caused some issues in the past but was trying to move past them. Madsen was also preparing to release a new book called 'Tears For My Father: Outlaw Thoughts and Poems,' which is currently being edited.
Our thoughts go out to Madsen's family and friends during this difficult time. He will be remembered for his memorable performances and significant contributions to the film industry.
