ACR Poker's AI-powered Skip-It MTTs slash early stages to minutes

ACR Poker has introduced a new tournament format called Skip-It MTTs, currently in beta testing. The format uses AI to speed up early stages, cutting 80% of players in just minutes. Buy-ins start at $1.05, with higher options available at $5.25 and $10.50. The tournament begins with a 'race phase', where AI-controlled Racers play on behalf of all entrants. These Racers are identical in skill and profile, ensuring fairness. Within five minutes, the field shrinks to just 20% of its original size.

Players can track their Racers' progress and watch key hands during this phase. Once the field is reduced, any Racers backed by the same player have their chip stacks merged. The remaining 20% of competitors then advance to a weekly **Day 2** tournament, held every Sunday, where play starts in the money. Day 2 tournaments typically last around four hours, with optional add-ons at the start. Players also have the choice to buy directly into Day 2 for $26.25, though they begin with fewer chips than those who qualified. The format shares similarities with 'flip-out' tournaments, relying heavily on luck in the early stages before shifting to skill-based play later on.

Skip-It MTTs offer a faster alternative to traditional multi-table tournaments. The AI-driven race phase removes most players quickly, while Day 2 focuses on skill and strategy. The format is now available in beta, with three buy-in levels to choose from.
