Acer's LumiRead device is set for release at the upcoming IFA event next week.
The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Acer prepares to unveil its latest innovation, the LumiRead e-reader, at the IFA event in Berlin from September 3rd to 8th.
This e-reader is set to make waves in the market, boasting a 6-inch e-paper display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, based on e-ink technology. It also comes equipped with Wi-Fi and an integrated 3G modem, ensuring seamless connectivity.
One of the standout features of the LumiRead e-reader is its affiliation with Barnes & Noble as its official content partner. This partnership grants it access to one of the most extensive e-libraries in the German language, making it an attractive choice for German-speaking readers.
Another unique feature is the built-in ISBN barcode scanner, which allows users to easily find and purchase books directly from the device.
While the final price of the LumiRead e-reader is yet to be confirmed, it is rumoured to retail at €250 or $318. This price point places it above the new Kindle's 3G version, priced at $189.
