Aleksander Aamodt Kilde Begins His Comeback in Chile

Norwegian ski ace Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is making strides in his comeback journey after a severe fall during the Lauberhorn race in January 2024. Currently, Kilde is attending a four-week training camp in Chile, preparing for his return to the World Cup.

The training camp marks a significant milestone for Kilde, who has been working diligently to regain his mobility following the accident. His mobility is still limited due to his injuries, with his arm currently able to lift only about 90 degrees, as compared to the 120 degrees required for World Cup races.

Kilde returned to the slopes with the Norwegian team for the first time in early August since his injury. Despite the challenges, he is satisfied with his first training sessions since his injury and is optimistic about his progress.

The severe fall during the Lauberhorn race left Kilde with a deep cut on his calf and a serious shoulder injury. Four operations were needed to treat the injuries, but Kilde's determination to get back on the slopes has been unwavering.

Before returning to training, Kilde took a break in Greece with friend AJ Ginnis, providing him with a much-needed respite before diving back into his rigorous training schedule.

As Kilde continues his training in Chile, the world of skiing eagerly awaits his return to the World Cup. His resilience and dedication to his sport are an inspiration to many, and there is no doubt that he will continue to push himself to the limit in his quest for victory.

Stay tuned for updates on Kilde's progress as he works towards his goal of returning to the World Cup.
