Accused Drugstore Operator in Syktyvkar to face trial
In a significant development, a 28-year-old resident of the capital was arrested by officers from the Regional MVD's Drug Control Directorate and the FSB for the Republic of Komi in June this year in the Sysolsky district. The individual is accused of attempting to illegally sell narcotics.
The criminal case, including the approved indictment, has been sent to the Sysolsky District Court for consideration. The investigation has revealed that the accused was involved in the distribution of a derivative of ephedrone (methcathinone) in significant and large quantities.
According to the investigation, the accused maintained contact with a curator, implying prior relationships. The communication between the two took place via a messenger, and the criminal activity involved the use of electronic and information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet.
The total weight of the seized substance was approximately 100 grams. During the arrest, 27 packets containing a white powdery substance were seized. The accused was also found to have repackaged the synthetic narcotic into smaller portions for further distribution.
It is believed that the distribution of the narcotic was likely part of an organized group's activities, given the large quantities involved. The accused did not have physical contact during the distribution of the narcotic.
Notably, the accused is a previously convicted individual. However, the search results do not contain information about the convicted person investigated by the MVD Investigative Bureau of the Komi Republic for illegal drug trafficking using electronic networks.
The narcotic in question is a derivative of ephedrone (methcathinone), a controlled substance known for its addictive properties and harmful effects on health. The authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking.
