Accor Has Tapped Ranju Alex to Lead Its South Asian Operations as CEO

Ranju Alex has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for South Asia at Accor, effective from August/September 2025. In her new role, Alex will be responsible for overseeing the operations of Accor in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Alex brings a wealth of experience to her new position, having held several leadership roles with Marriott International over the past three decades. Prior to her appointment at Accor, she served as the Regional Vice President for South Asia at Marriott International, where she managed over 170 hotels in the region.

One of Alex's most notable achievements was being conferred with the Bharat Gaurav award, which recognises her significant contributions to the industry. This award adds to her already highly accomplished CV.

Gaurav Bhushan, Chairman of the proposed Accor/InterGlobe JV, expressed his excitement about Alex's leadership. This joint venture aims to operate 300 hotels under Accor brands by 2030, consolidating their businesses into a single entity/vehicle, subject to receiving necessary regulatory approvals.

The joint venture is expected to result in the opening of new luxury destinations in the covered regions, with the Fairmont Udaipur Palace being a new addition to Accor's portfolio in Rajasthan, India. Alex expressed her delight at joining Accor, citing their comprehensive and exciting portfolio of brands in the region.

Alex began her career with The Oberoi Group in 1993, before moving on to Marriott International. Her appointment at Accor marks a new chapter in her illustrious career.

With her extensive experience and proven track record, Alex is well-positioned to lead Accor's vision in the region and contribute to the growth and success of the company in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
