Accident with multiple vehicles near Valencia results in 8 individuals being hurt
In an unexpected turn of events, a collision between two trucks and at least six cars on the A-7 motorway at Godella, Valencia, caused a significant disruption on Friday, August 28, 2025.
The exact cause of the collision remains unspecified in the given information. However, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) confirmed the incident as a "collision."
The Emergency Information and Coordination Centre (CICU) received a report of the collision at 2:37 p.m., prompting an immediate response from emergency services. A SAMU ambulance, two Basic Life Support (BLS) units, and a TNA ambulance were dispatched to the scene.
The incident resulted in a total shutdown of the A-7 motorway, causing a ripple effect on Valencian roads. According to Las Provincias, traffic was still complicated on these roads as of Friday evening.
At the scene, a total of eight people were treated. Two women, aged 37 and 66, were rushed to the General Hospital of Valencia with abdominal and leg bruises, respectively. A 67-year-old woman, who sustained neck pain and a bruise on her thigh, was also transferred to the same hospital.
Fortunately, the other five individuals at the scene had only bruises and dizziness but did not require transportation.
Es Diario shared a video of the accident near Godella, providing a glimpse into the chaotic scene. A few hours later, the DGT notified via X that the incident had been resolved, and the road had been reopened.
As of early this morning, the DGT confirmed that the A-7 in Valencia, near Pucol, remained closed due to the multiple-vehicle incident. However, traffic is expected to return to normal as the day progresses.
The public is advised to exercise caution and adhere to traffic updates when travelling in the affected areas.
