Accident: Vehicle hits pedestrians, leaves three injured
In the heart of Aachen's Brand district, a traffic accident occurred on Friday, August 25, around 5:20 PM. A driver, traveling from Kornelimünster towards the city center, turned left onto the Ringstraße and failed to notice pedestrians on the crossing.
As a result, three individuals were injured: a 32-year-old woman from Aachen, her five-month-old baby, and a 15-year-old girl from Baesweiler. The baby's life was not in danger after the accident, and the 91-year-old driver suffered a shock but was not physically injured.
Despite braking, the driver was unable to avoid a collision with the three pedestrians. The accident sent the trio tumbling to the ground, causing injuries.
The Aachen Police have initiated investigations into the traffic accident. The focus of the investigation includes reckless bodily harm. A voluntary breath and drug test conducted on the driver was negative.
The investigations are being conducted by the Aachen Police following the incident. However, the search results do not provide the name of the investigation leader at the Aachen police headquarters.
The three injured individuals were taken to a hospital by ambulance. The Aachen Police Press Office can be contacted for further information. Their contact details are: Phone: 0241 / 9577 - 21211, Email: [email protected].
We hope for the speedy recovery of those injured in the accident. This incident serves as a reminder to drivers to always be mindful of pedestrians, especially in busy city districts like Aachen's Brand district.
