Accident on Rothenbergstrasse in Dusseldorf causes injuries to three individuals
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, a tragic head-on collision occurred on Rothenbergstraße, causing significant disruptions and raising concerns among the local community.
At approximately 10:00, two vehicles—a Ford Puma and a VW ID.3—collided on a straight road with a solid center line. Emergency services, including firefighters, paramedics, and police, responded immediately to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters had to use hydraulic rescue tools to extricate the driver of the Ford Puma, a 65-year-old man from Waltrop, who suffered life-threatening injuries. The driver of the VW ID.3, a 30-year-old person from Naumburg (Saale), sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Ford Puma was not the only casualty. The passenger in the Ford Puma, a 66-year-old individual, also exited the vehicle with severe injuries. All three injured parties were transported to hospitals for further medical treatment.
The direction of travel for the Ford Puma was towards Gerresheim, while the VW ID.3 was travelling in the opposite direction. The investigation leader of the traffic accident is not publicly disclosed at this time.
The police's traffic accident recording team took over the scene to investigate the cause of the accident. Both cars were towed away from the scene, and the closure of Rothenbergstraße caused traffic disruptions during the morning.
