The A73 motorway in the Coburg district experienced two separate accidents within a short period of time, as reported by the police inspection Bamberg-Land (Polizeiinspektion Bamberg-Land).
In the first incident, a 25-year-old was involved in a car accident with a median barrier at the Ebersdorf bei Coburg and Rödental junctions in the afternoon. The second accident occurred approximately 100 meters before the first accident site, involving a 47-year-old and his 29-year-old passenger.
Heavy rain on the motorway is believed to have contributed to the accidents. The second car broke through more than 40 meters of the outer barrier before colliding with the median barrier.
As a result of these accidents, three slight injuries were sustained. The 25-year-old and the 47-year-old both suffered from slight injuries, along with his 29-year-old passenger in the second car accident. No new estimate of the total number of injuries was provided.
The total damage from the two accidents on the A73 motorway is now estimated to be over €70,000. The locations of the two accidents are different from the ones mentioned in earlier incidents.
The police did not provide further information about the reporting of the incidents. However, it is clear that the A73 motorway faced significant disruptions due to these accidents, and authorities are working to ensure the safety of motorists in the area.
