Abu Dhabi Honours Top Firms with 2026 Sustainability Awards During Key Week
The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has recognised leading private sector firms with its Sustainability Label during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026. The awards highlight companies excelling in environmental, social, and governance standards across four categories: Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
The programme aims to boost sustainability practices and prepare businesses for global competition by assessing institutional readiness and providing capacity-building support.
His Excellency Ali Mohamed Al Marzooqi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, emphasised the importance of private sector involvement in sustainable economic growth. He noted that companies play a key role in meeting long-term development goals through responsible business practices.
His Excellency Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman and Managing Director, reinforced this view. He described sustainability as a core element in building a competitive economy for Abu Dhabi. In the Diamond category, three major firms were honoured: Emirates Driving Company, Emirates Steel, and Aldar Properties. These companies demonstrated the highest level of institutional readiness in sustainability. The Gold category recognised four businesses: Union Iron and Steel Factory, National Marine Dredging Company, Weatherford, and Trojan Construction Group. Their achievements reflected strong performance in environmental and governance standards. Al Mazrouei Group, through its subsidiaries Al Turath Engineering Consultants and Best Pick General Trading, secured the Silver award. The category acknowledged their progress in integrating sustainable practices. Emirates Link Contracting Company and Lead Development received the Bronze label. Their inclusion highlighted growing efforts among smaller firms to adopt sustainability measures. The Sustainability Label Programme evaluates companies through readiness assessments, training, and classification. It helps businesses enhance credibility while aligning with global market expectations.
The awards mark a step forward in Abu Dhabi's push for sustainable business practices. Recognised firms now serve as benchmarks for others aiming to improve environmental and governance standards. The programme continues to support companies in meeting international sustainability requirements.
