Absent Notification for Local Elections: Coverage Unveiled

On September 14, 2025, Barmer town will host a significant day for its residents: the local elections, including the mayoral, city council, and district council elections, as well as an integration council election. Here's everything you need to know to ensure you can participate.

If you're eligible, you have two options for casting your vote: voting directly at Room A-350 (3rd floor) at the Barmer town hall, or applying for mail-in voting.

For those choosing the traditional method, you can fill out and send the mail-in voting application on the back of the voter notification. Alternatively, you can apply for mail-in voting online by scanning the QR code printed on your voter notification. Mail-in voting materials can be picked up in person at Room A-350 (3rd floor) at the Barmer town hall since August 18, 2025.

To be eligible to vote, you must meet certain criteria. For the local election, you must be at least 16 years old on election day and have been living in the election area since August 29. Germans and citizens of the other EU member states fall under this category.

For the integration council election, eligibility extends to those with foreign citizenship or those with citizenship.
