Absence of the Public Summer Festival by Diakonie Bethany This Year

In light of the tragic events at the "Festival of Diversity" last Friday, Diakonie Bethanien has decided to cancel its public summer festival, scheduled for August 31. This decision was made to show respect to the victims, their families, and the local community, according to Matthias Ruf, chairman of the management of Diakonie Bethanien.

However, the organisation is not resting. Instead, they are focusing on creating spaces and opportunities for residents, their families, and employees to meet and exchange their experiences, fears, and concerns. Internal summer celebrations will take place in the houses Buche, Ahorn, and Eiche, and everyone interested is invited to attend.

The internal celebrations will feature the previously booked artists, but the specific performers are yet to be announced. The Park Café in Diakonie Bethanien will also be open during these celebrations, serving delicious grilled food, champignons, and fresh waffles.

In addition to the celebrations, Diakonie Bethanien will host a church service in the Bethanien chapel, led by Daniel Harter. The service is in memory of the victims of the attack.

Apart from these events, visitors can also visit the exhibition "What remains," which will be open from 12.00 to 17.00.

Diakonie Bethanien recognises the importance of processing traumatic events and aims to provide a supportive environment for all those affected. The organisation encourages everyone to attend the church service and exhibition, and to join in the healing process together.
