Abbey Road Studios Joins Forces with Jon Hopkins: Remarks on the Stunning Collaboration

In a groundbreaking move, luxury electric vehicle manufacturer Polestar has launched the Abbey Road Studios Mode in its latest offering, the Polestar 3. This unique in-car listening experience, co-developed by Abbey Road Studios and Bowers & Wilkins, aims to redefine the way music is enjoyed on the go.

One of the key collaborators in this project is Grammy-nominated composer Jon Hopkins. Hopkins, known for his work with influential artists, was invited to create new music for the Intimate and Expansive presets. The composer found the experience to be unique, considering it a privilege to work in Studio Two, a room with a rich musical history since 1931.

For the Intimate preset, Hopkins crafted a subtle, contemplative piece. On the other hand, the Expansive preset received a track that feels both vast and personal. These new compositions were recorded in 2023, within the confines of Polestar 3.

Another artist who graced the legendary Abbey Road Studio Two was rising jazz star corto.alto. He was invited to reinterpret two of his most impactful tracks for the Mode in Polestar 3. The collaboration aimed to showcase the unique sonic characteristics of the new in-car listening experience. corto.alto found being in Polestar 3 to be "so cool."

Polestar 3 is not just about music. It also features portraits with various influential personalities, including American basketball player Kevin Love. Love, an iconic athlete and style-conscious advocate, highlights the perfect balance of performance, well-being, and creativity in Polestar.

The Abbey Road Studios Mode offers more than just collaborations. It features four unique presets: Intimate, Expansive, Open, and Energised. Additionally, a producer mode allows users granular customisation of their audio experience.

Polestar's commitment to performance extends beyond its vehicles. Portraits with professional cyclist Demi Vollering emphasize a pure commitment to speed and performance in everything done.

In collaboration with Polestar, the Abbey Road Studios Mode is available exclusively with the Bowers & Wilkins audio system in Polestar 3. This innovative feature is set to revolutionise the way music is experienced in electric vehicles, offering a seamless blend of art, technology, and performance.
