A31 Roadway Accident Leaves 10 People Harmed
In an unexpected turn of events, a significant traffic accident occurred on the A31 near the city of Bottrop today at around 18:20. The incident involved two cars, leading to a chaotic scene on the busy highway.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire Department Bottrop swiftly sprang into action, with both the professional fire brigade and the volunteer fire brigade Kirchhellen dispatching approximately 40 personnel to the site. The volunteer fire brigade Altstadt also provided cover for the rest of the city during the operation.
Rescue resources from neighbouring towns, including Oberhausen, Dorsten, and Gladbeck, were also requested to assist the Bottrop crews. The police took over the scene for the investigation of the cause of the accident.
Sadly, ten people were injured in the accident, one of whom was seriously injured. Contrary to initial reports, no one was trapped in the vehicles. The Bottrop Fire Department called for the "mass casualty incident" code, indicating the severity of the situation.
