A2 Motorway Near FW Hannover: Road Traffic Collision Involving Vehicles
On Saturday evening, a traffic accident occurred on the A2, heading towards Berlin, at the Varrelheide rest area, between the Bothfeld and Lahe exits.
According to a report by news aktuell, a 71-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and caused it to overturn. The driver was able to exit the vehicle on his own, but a 68-year-old passenger was trapped inside and had to be extricated by the Hannover Fire Department using technical equipment.
Both occupants were severely injured and transported to nearby hospitals. The Hannover Fire Department, with the assistance of 20 firefighters and paramedics, attended the scene until approximately 19:15.
