In the upcoming Sumbe Prix Jean Romanet, a prestigious horse race, a number of talented contenders are preparing to compete. Among them is Quisisana, a filly with a lot of ability, who, despite having the lowest rating in the race, has been targeted by her trainer, Francis Graffard.

The race will see the participation of trainers like Francis-Henri Graffard and Wesley Ward, although notables like Aidan O'Brien and Charlie Appleby will be absent. Aidan O'Brien's absence is evident in the four horses he trained that finished last in the Prix Jean Romanet 2021.

Cinderella's Dream, a filly with Group- and Grade 1-winning form at both a mile and 1m11⁄2f, is considered 'probably the one to beat' in the Sumbe Prix Jean Romanet. Her European campaign has been successful, with a second-place finish at Royal Ascot and a close call against Moira in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf in November.

Bedtime Story and Cankoura, who finished second and third in the Prix de Diane, are also strong contenders. Cankoura has half a length to find with Bedtime Story from the Prix de Diane and has already won over the course and distance in the Group 3 Prix de Pysche. Bedtime Story, on the other hand, demonstrated impressive speed, running under 34 seconds for the final three furlongs in the Prix de Diane, although she failed to catch Gezora by a length.

Survie, believed to be the best of the older brigade from France, and Royal Dress, who is expected to perform well on a turning track, are also expected to make a strong showing. Royal Dress's trainer, James Tate, has booked Clifford Lee as the jockey, which is a plus for them.

Start Of Day, believed to be in good form and handling Deauville well, and Cankoura, who is maturing well and eligible for a weight allowance, are other contenders to watch out for.

Interestingly, the Sumbe Prix Jean Romanet has been opened to three-year-olds for the first time, adding a new dimension to the race.

Grand Stars, another contender, might not run if her trainer, Gerald Mosse, deems the ground too firm. If she does run, she could prove to be a formidable competitor.

With a diverse field of talented horses and a new twist with the inclusion of three-year-olds, the Sumbe Prix Jean Romanet promises to be an exciting race.
