A chilling forest spot near Mühldorf houses an unsettling past. The Nazis dubbed it "Weingut 1," concealing its true purpose - a place for forced laborers to endure unspeakable torture. After the war, it revealed its sinister side with mass graves and a vast bunker designed for aircraft production.

Scaling the heritage structure - A stroller becomes lodged in an old Nazi bunker.

This past weekend, the Mühldorfer Hart forest witnessed a harrowing incident. A man who went to this area with friends on Whitsunday to ride a Qad, a type of four-wheeled motorcycle, climbed over the ruins of an old Nazi bunker for a break.

A dangerous trap: there were leftovers of old construction steel in the hole, and the 37-year-old ended up ramming a reinforcing bar into his body.

His friends called for assistance. Since the accident site is hard to access, rescuers from the Ampfingen fire department arrived from the Rottal-Inn district to save the man.

The severely injured man had to be hoisted by the rescue helicopter Christoph 15 from Straubing using a cable winch and was flown to Traunstein Hospital.
