A sneak peek at the latest Renault Clio model from 2026, anticipated to be the best-selling vehicle in its round, the sixth edition.
The automotive world is abuzz with the upcoming release of the Renault Clio 6, a compact car that promises to deliver modern technology and improved engines.
At launch, motorists will have two engine options: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder TCe with 115 horsepower, and a new 1.8-liter full hybrid, named the Full Hybrid E-Tech 160. The hybrid powertrain combines a 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with electric motors, offering a total output of 158 PS.
The interior of the Clio 6 is inspired by the iconic Renault 5, with a focus on quality materials that are a step up for a compact car. The material quality is excellent, providing a high-quality feel and good ergonomics. However, headroom may be tight for taller passengers.
The Techno trim level includes a host of features such as the OpenR link multimedia system with integrated Google services, automatic climate control, tinted rear windows, automatically dimming rearview mirror, front center armrest, LED ambient lighting, keyless entry, automatically folding exterior mirrors, rearview camera, high beam assist, rain sensor, and six speakers. The Techno trim also offers ambient lighting with 48 colours to add a personal touch.
The Esprit Alpine version takes things a step further with Alcantara accents, inductive phone charging, a height-adjustable passenger seat, logo projection, 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive cruise control, surround view parking aid, blind spot warning, exit warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear automatic emergency braking. This top-tier version also features decorative trim that resembles heated foil.
The Clio 6 has grown in size, now measuring nearly 4.12 meters in length, 1.77 meters in width, and 1.45 meters in height. Despite the increase in size, the passenger space remains virtually unchanged, providing adequate room for passengers up to 1.90 meters tall. However, the loading lip, both inside and out, is high, making it difficult to load bulky items.
The trunk of the new Clio is spacious, but its rear visibility is poor due to the integrated rear window. A double load floor is available as an option to improve cargo flexibility.
The base model of the Clio 6 is expected to start at around 24,000 euros (gross), with a price increase compared to its predecessor. Standard safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Drowsiness Alert, Automatic Park Brake, and a 10-inch Display with Wireless Smartphone Screen Mirroring.
The Renault Clio 2026 will also feature a digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch central display with Google integration.
In conclusion, the Renault Clio 6 offers a blend of modern technology, improved engines, and a high-quality feel, making it an appealing choice for compact car enthusiasts. However, its visibility and cargo loading may present challenges.
