Around 10 pm, two unidentified people broke into a business, causing a dispute between them and the owner. During this disagreement, one of the intruders pulled out a gas pistol and fired a shot. One of the robbers then grabbed cash from the register, stealing a significant amount of money. The pair quickly escaped through Hüttenstraße toward Bungert. Unfortunately, tracing them down was unsuccessful.

The 61-year-local businessman from Aachen got hurt during the break-in and had breathing difficulties. He was given proper medical care straight away.

An investigation into this serious crime has been taken over by the Criminal Police. They described the suspects as being between 1.70 to 1.75 meters tall with a normal build. At the time of the incident, they wore dark workout clothing with black shoes, black storm hats, and white latex gloves. One of the thieves had a jacket with three blue stripes on the shoulder to the elbow and orange badges on the front left and right. The other robber wore a coat with a white symbol on the shoulder blade.
