A Rivers Casino Pittsburgh winner was pursued and robbed after being trailed home, leaving their roommate injured.

A twenty-six-year-old man was apprehended this week following a robbery incident wherein he allegedly trailed a casino winner all the way to his house and, after a violent confrontation, shot his roommate.

The victim, having won $4,500 at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh on Sunday night, was hurried to a hospital for emergency aid. His condition was reported as stable several days ago.

On Thursday, the culprit, Juwan Haynes of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody for the shooting. Charges against him included aggravated assault, burglary, robbery, theft, and weapons violations.

Haynes surrendered voluntarily on Thursday night and was detained at the Allegheny County Jail by Friday. He is set for arraignment at the local court imminently.

The Heist

It was discovered that the casino winner, unnamed thus far, had pocketed $4,500 in winnings that night at the gaming establishment on Casino Drive in Pittsburgh. Haynes initiated his pursuit of the victim while they were both present within the casino premises.

Haynes trailed the victim for about six miles, from Casino Drive up to his house on Camelot Drive in Scott Township, Pennsylvania. Once there, he reportedly shot the victim's roommate in the torso and arm, demanding the casino jackpot from the victim himself.

Initial reports indicated that some cash was transferred to Haynes, and that the winning player had emerged unscathed from the ordeal.

The primordial evidence and accounts from witnesses allowed the authorities to name Haynes as the perpetrator. Whether or not there were surveillance cameras capturing his image at the casino on the day of the shooting is undisclosed.

Haynes had suffered financial losses while gambling at the casino before the robbery and shooting.

The shooting and robbery were being investigated by the Scott Township Police Department and the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit.

An Addiction Too Great

It was subsequently disclosed that Haynes is afflicted with a gambling addiction, as reported by Pennsylvania-based TV station KTAE.

The gravity of his addiction is made clear as he has sought professional help and rehabilitation for the issue. Furthermore, due to his dependency, he has been listed in a roll of those who should refrain from visiting casinos, the police report mentioned by KTAE asserted.

In earlier incidents, Haynes had snatched a friend's car to make his way to casinos. His friend had installed an Apple Air Tag in the car to assist in recovering it if it was ever misplaced, WTAE reported.
