A potential leak of the forthcoming One UI 8 Watch indicates the inclusion of new features, specifically focusing on Google's rumored device - the Gemini.

Google's upcoming AI assistant, Gemini, is set to take centre stage in the world of Wear OS, according to leaked build findings and previous reports.

The leaked One UI 8 Watch build, which offers insights into the future integration of Google's Gemini in Wear OS, contains strings in the APK that hint at various uses of Gemini in daily life. The code prominently features the word "suggestion," suggesting that the AI will offer its own take on what users should do next with the information it provides.

Early findings suggest that users will be able to surface Gemini by saying "Hey Google" aloud. This command, mentioned earlier, might be used to activate Gemini on smartwatches. The suggestions from the AI are expected to appear as small cards to tap, but this remains to be seen.

The leaked build also suggests that Gemini will have the ability to manage scheduled events. Users may even be able to command Gemini to move their next meeting 30 minutes later.

One of the strings specifically mentions the addition of a Gemini action, which could appear as a chip in Samsung's Wear OS skin. This is not the first time Gemini has been spotted on Wear OS; a report in May 2023 detailed a Gemini cameo on a Galaxy Watch 4, showing its diamond/starry logo when launching the Assistant. However, no further details were discovered at the time.

Google confirmed in March 2025 that it was inching towards fully replacing the Assistant in Wear OS with Gemini. The company teased "new possibilities" en route to the I/O 2025 event, where new developments regarding Gemini updates are expected to be revealed.

IposDev was identified as the tipster who discovered the early One UI 8 Watch build and provided insights into the functionality of Gemini in Wear OS. The leaked build also hints at features like email summarization and weather reports in Gemini, as previously stated.

As we await the official unveiling of Gemini, it's clear that Google is aiming to make its AI assistant an integral part of users' daily lives, offering suggestions and managing tasks directly from their smartwatches. The future of Wear OS seems to be shining bright with the introduction of Gemini. Stay tuned for more updates at Google's I/O 2025 event on May 20 at 10 am PT.
