A man, 48 years old, was struck and mortally injured by a car that skidded off the road and onto the sidewalk in Pulheim close to Cologne on Sunday nighttime. The incident was disclosed by the police on the same evening. The driver of this 24-year-old car had earlier collided with two parked automobiles and subsequently hit a wall and a lamppost. Consequently, a 24-year-old lady was grievously injured in this road mishap. Medical aid personnel were deployed to reanimate her instantly before moving her to a specialized hospital in Cologne. The driver and his companion both endured moderate injuries. Cops ascertained that the breath of the driver suggested alcohol consumption and, hence, seized a blood sample from him.
