Over in Neugraben, a big car chase transpired between the cops and an Audi driver into the wee hours of the night. The chase concluded with the driver getting apprehended, but also with minor injuries.
The scene unfolded when law enforcement noticed a gleaming silver Audi around 2:20 am on Neuwiedenthaler Straße. The officers on patrol requested that the man cease his vehicle, but rather than complying, he sped off, making a run for it.
Attempting to escape on foot
A multitude of patrol cars sped to the scene, anxious to join the quest. Ultimately, their pursuit culminated in a blind alley. Moments later, while he attempted to leap out of his vehicle to keep running on foot, a different patrol car was right at his door. Predictably, he became snagged in the door, leading to a slight injury for him.
He received care at a Hamburg hospital as a precaution. His travel mate, luckily, made it through the ordeal. The culprit's motive for fleeing from the authorities is currently unraveling - could be drink-related. The inquiry is still ongoing.
