"A hunt for a murderous 'Citizen of the Reich': Investigators seek suspect"

In the Australian state of Victoria, a manhunt is underway for Desmond Filby, a 56-year-old man wanted for a tragic shooting incident that occurred near Porepunkah, approximately 300 kilometers northeast of Melbourne.

Filby, who also goes by the alias Freeman, is known to be a stubborn loner, adept at surviving in nature and hiding among the densely forested mountain ranges. Before the shooting incident, he resided on a rural property near Porepunkah.

The authorities believe that Filby identifies as a "Sovereign Citizen," a movement associated with right-wing extremist groups, according to the domestic intelligence agency. This belief allegedly exempts him from state laws.

In a statement, the Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, warned that Filby is dangerous and should be caught. The police chief, Mike Bush, described him as a "very dangerous" man who cold-bloodedly murdered several police officers, resulting in the death of two officers and the serious injury of a third.

The village of Porepunkah, nestled at the foot of the Australian Alps, has been in a state of emergency since the incident. Over 450 police officers from several states are on duty around the clock in the area, using dog teams, helicopters, drones, and military-style equipment to search for Filby.

Amalia Filby, Filby's wife, has expressed her condolences to the families of the fallen police officers and pleads for a "swift and secure end to this tragedy." She claims not to believe in conspiracy theories and hopes that her husband will surrender.

Filby is documented to have hatred towards state authority and is described as a convicted gun enthusiast. He reportedly refers to the police as "the new Gestapo" and "Nazi henchmen" in media reports and court documents.

The news from Hamm, unrelated to the ongoing incident, includes a celebration by the Fire Department, a large-scale internet outage, and open doors at HSHL and Hamm erFahren 2025.

As the search for Filby continues, the community in Porepunkah and the wider Victoria region remains on edge, hoping for a peaceful resolution to this tragic situation.
