A Digital Journey Through Automotive History Unfolds in Moscow’s State Library

The Russian State Library has teamed up with Avtocheck and the Multimedia Art Museum to launch a digital installation celebrating three major milestones. These include the library’s 100th anniversary, its collection surpassing 200 million items, and Avtocheck generating its 100 millionth report. The interactive exhibit, now open in the library’s lobby, explores the history of automobiles through rare archives and modern data.

The installation features digitised materials such as 1930s traffic police manuals, Soviet-era technical diagrams, and contemporary vehicle history reports. Visitors can explore these documents until December 13, 2021. The project also includes a study on the age demographics of both the library’s and Avtocheck’s audiences.

The collaboration highlights how digital tools are bridging historical research with everyday needs. The exhibit remains free for all visitors until its closing date. Both institutions aim to support younger audiences in making well-informed choices using verified data.
