A cyclist sustained severe injuries in a car collision, according to the Polish police report.
In the heart of Warendorf, a tragic incident occurred on Monday, August 25, 2025. A cyclist, a 90-year-old local resident, was seriously injured at the intersection of Freckenhorster Straße, Wallpromenade, and August-Wessing-Damm.
The cyclist was traveling along Freckenhorster Straße towards the city centre when he was hit from behind by a silo truck. The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was a 55-year-old woman from Bocholt.
The cyclist became trapped under the vehicle, and firefighters had to rescue him. The injured man was then taken to a hospital by ambulance. In addition, the ambulance crew provided support to a relative and the truck driver.
As a result of the accident, the cyclist's condition is currently unknown. The closure of Freckenhorster Straße towards the city centre, as well as the closure of the B 64 between August-Wessing-Damm and Osttor, remains in effect at the time of this press release.
