Karlsruhe's A5 Highway - A collision on the A5 leaves five individuals hurt.

Based on recent details from the authorities, a 34-year-old Mercedes driver was headed towards Karlsruhe on the A5 highway around 5 pm. In the area of Bruchhausen, he seems to have missed noticing a Ford braking for traffic reasons, hitting the Ford's back end. Consequently, the Ford collided with a Mercedes-Benz C-Class ahead of it. The 34-year-old driver of the Mercedes and a 34-year-old passenger sustained only minor injuries, but a 57-year-old woman suffered severe injuries. The 25-year-old Ford driver and 27-year-old woman behind the wheel of the C-Class only experienced light injuries.

Due to the massive rescue efforts and vehicle recovery, the northbound lane of the A5 remained closed until around 8pm. This caused a traffic jam that stretched over 13 kilometers.
