Augsburg: New Headlines - A 58-year-old man assaults another man aged 46 aboard a streetcar.
At around 2:30 p.m., the two men hopped on a streetcar. But then, the 58-year-old unexpectedly went after the 46-year-old with a knife. Afterwards, he swiftly left the scene on foot. However, within a short span, the police managed to track and detain him on a provisional basis.
The 46-year-old was severely wounded and rushed to the hospital for immediate care. Meanwhile, the 58-year-old, who had also suffered minor injuries during his detention, received medical attention. As per the request of the Augsburg public prosecutor's office, the 58-year-old faced the law in court on Friday (10.05.2024). The judge ordered an arrest warrant for attempted murder and transferred him to a detention center.
The Augsburg crime department is now probing the cause of this heinous act.
