A 13-year-old who went missing from Wilhelmsburg has returned home
In a relief for her family and the Hamburg police, a 13-year-old girl from Wilhelmsburg has been safely found after she went missing on Sunday evening. The girl was last seen leaving her apartment on Faehrstraße.
The search for the girl was primarily led by the Hamburg police, specifically the regional State Criminal Police Office (LKA 181) in Harburg. They initiated public searches and requested witnesses to provide information through a police helpline. The police had also searched for the girl before, twice in July, and once in August, but with no success.
The girl's disappearance was not the first time she had gone missing. In recent months, she has been reported missing several times. However, she always returned safely after a few days. This time, contact with her guardian was lost on Sunday evening, causing concern among authorities and her family.
Despite the extensive search efforts, the girl's whereabouts remained unknown until Tuesday, when she was found and returned home. There are no indications of any criminal offenses in relation to her disappearance.
A 16-year-old teenager from Hamburg also went missing in August. The teenager fell from a goods train and was dragged. The police had searched for the teenager twice in July, but their efforts were unsuccessful. The location of the multi-family home where the girl was possibly staying is near the Vogelhuettendeich.
The police appealed for public help in the search for both the 13-year-old girl and the 16-year-old teenager. They used a photo of the girl in the search to help identify her and gather information.
The Hamburg police expressed their gratitude for the public's cooperation and support during the search for the 13-year-old girl. They reminded everyone to keep an eye out for anyone who appears lost or in distress, and to report any suspicious activities to the police.
