Herrmann and Jantschke make headlines. - Emotional goodbyes to football legends.

On Saturday at 3.30 pm against Frankfurt, Borussia Mönchengladbach's "football legends" Tony Jantschke (34) and Patrick Herrmann (33) will play their final games at the Borussia-Park stadium as active professionals. The two players, who have only competed in the Bundesliga while wearing the Gladbach jersey, will be officially honored before the game.

One of their teammates, Marvin Friedrich (28), commented on the emotional nature of the upcoming game: "It will definitely be an emotional game for both of them. I hope we can give them a good performance and create a fitting atmosphere for their farewell."

Many younger fans of Borussia Mönchengladbach may not even be aware of the team without the presence of these two players.

Central defender Jantschke made his first of 246 Bundesliga appearances for Gladbach on November 29, 2008, in a 3-1 home victory against Cottbus. Meanwhile, winger Herrmann made his first of 349 appearances on January 16, 2010, in a 2-1 draw against Bochum at the Borussia-Park.

Herrmann said, "Whether on the field or on the bench, it has always been an honor for me to wear the Gladbach badge on my chest and in my heart." Jantschke added, "The club has given me the opportunity to achieve more than I ever dreamed of. And it provides me the chance to continue building on that after my career."

Jantschke and Herrmann will stay with Borussia!

The good news is that both Jantschke and Herrmann will remain with Borussia!

Jantschke will join the coaching staff, taking care of the top prospects in the professional team and the youth academy, while Herrmann will bring his passion for Borussia to the sponsorship department.

It's yet to be seen whether coach Seoane will allow these cult icons to say goodbye with a brief appearance on the field - particularly since Herrmann may have the opportunity to play his 350th Bundesliga match.

Interestingly enough, Herrmann's countryman and former coach, Favre, lost the support of many fans during the last Bundesliga matchday of the 2014/15 season. Although fans cheered for cult captain Filip Daems (45) to be included in the starting lineup, Favre left him on the bench for the entire 90 minutes of Borussia's meaningless 3-1 loss to Augsburg.

Be sure to stay tuned as we witness these two legends take the field for their last professional games at Borussia-Park!
