Elvis Presley's Previous Abode in Las Vegas Might End Up Being Auctioned Off

Graceland, the longtime home of Elvis Presley and famous Las Vegas icon, had a scheduled public auction planned for Thursday. However, this changed after actress Riley Keough obtained a temporary restraining order, stopping the sale.

The 34-year-old star inherited Graceland, along with the rest of her late grandmother Lisa Marie Presley's estate, through a trust following Lisa Marie's death in January 2023. Lisa Marie passed away at 54 years old.

Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC, owned by financier Kurt Naussany, claims the right to the 13-acre estate since they argued a $3.8 million loan Lisa Marie took out in 2018 and secured with Graceland as collateral was never repaid. Naussany Investments placed a public notice for foreclosure earlier this month.

Coming Right Back at It

In her lawsuit, Keough asserts that her mother never took out a loan from Naussany or signed a deed of trust. The lawsuit alleges that the documents initially presented by Naussany in September 2023 are fake and that Naussany Investments is a fake entity created to swindle Keough and the Promenade Trust, which she owns Graceland through.

Naussany Investments' notary, according to the court filing, states they have never met Lisa Marie or notarized any documents for her.

"Elvis Presley Enterprises can confirm that the claims are fraudulent," mentioned the company managing the Graceland museum in its statement. "There is no foreclosure sale. In a nutshell, the counter lawsuit is to halt the scam."

A hearing on an injunction is set for Wednesday in Shelby County Chancery Court.

Graceland was established as a museum and tourist site back in 1982 as a tribute to Elvis Presley, who sadly passed away in 1977 at just 42 years old. The home receives hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. This historic estate also serves as the final resting place of Elvis, his parents, his stillborn identical twin brother, Jesse Garon Presley, Lisa Marie, and her second child, Benjamin Keough.

Riley Keough eulogizes her mother, Lisa Marie Presley, in front of Graceland on Jan. 22, 2023.
