Elon Musk Alleges Mark Zuckerberg Halted and Cancelled Their Cage Match

Tech gurus Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg, holding the top spots at one and eight in the Forbes "Real-Time Billionaires List", engaged in a playful conversation on social media last June about arranging a UFC-inspired beatdown to settle their dynastic disagreements. However, with no concrete plans set in stone, the chances of their rumbling going down are looking mighty slim.

UFC wizard Dana White has been discreetly collaborating to bring these big-money mavericks together in the ring. White's got a wild dream that if this showdown actually happens, it will be the most fantastic fight of all time.

Bookies are getting in on the action, posting odds of the potential rumble, but US sportsbooks haven't dived in just yet. The reason? Most state gaming commissions only legalize betting on fights authorized by sanctioning bodies such as the Nevada Athletic Commission.

Just a couple of days ago, Musk weighed in on his newly founded X platform, formerly Twitter, claiming that Zuckerberg is the reason for the flighty clash's indefinite delay.

"On X, I quipped about clashing swords with Zuck. He replied, ‘SEND ME LOCATION.’ Italy kindly volunteered one of its Colosseums. Zuck tapped out," stated Musk's X post.

"I advised his domicile as a 'safe space'. Unfortunately, 'ahem', he was 'unavailable'. Is there a location he'll tag team?" Musk inquired.

In a beard-stroking statement on Threads, Zuckerberg's attempt to go head-to-head with Musk's Twitter, the Meta czar and CEO declared that Musk was simply joking and it's high time he focuses on something valuable.

"I think we can concur that Elon isn't genuine and it's time to lay this to rest," Zuckerberg penned. "I offered a specific date, Dana White offered to formalize this into a charity match. Elon hasn't confirmed a date, then cries 'surgery', and now begs for a practice round right here in my yard," Zuckerberg added.

Unwilling to surrender his dreams fully, Zuckerberg's not yet ready to call it quits.

"If Elon ever demonstrates a will to set a date and organize a proper event, he's got the hotline to me. Otherwise, it's about time to give up and pivot. I'm preoccupied with competing against those who are invested in the sport," declared the Facebook tycoon.

The chatter around this theatrical sparring match caught fire when Zuckerberg introduced Threads to compete with Musk's Twitter. Zuckerberg tossed out the proclamation that a levelheaded person should govern the global forum for online discourse.

This provocation whipped Musk into dangerous ecstasy, egging him on about throwing down in a cage match if that's what Zuckerberg desired. They've been trading barbs ever since, draping the noose around the postponed fight.

Sucky for Bookies

Even if donations would've flowed to charity, the Musk-Zuckerberg brawl would've pommeled the sportsbooks with a major betting frenzy if the Nevada Athletic Commission had sanctioned the showdown.

Let's be real, a number of American sportsbooks have inserted potential odds for this hypothetical rage-fest, but they're currently biting their lips and holding back their bets. Zuckerberg's the betting front-runner at -435, translating to a 81% shot of victory. It's not too shabby - a $100 wager on those odds would net you a mere $23.

Musk seems like a formidable underdog at +350. With an astounding 22% chance implied, a $100 bet on these odds would rake in a whopping $350. But it's just wishful thinking if you put your money on Elon now; those odds are still up in the air.
