CDU Secretary General's Daughter: Tamina - Ecstatic mother at CDU headquarters
VP General Secretary Christina Stumpp (36) recently welcomed her daughter Tamina into the world, and after 10 weeks on maternity leave, she's back in the office. Being prepared for any situation, Stumpp shares, "If my baby needs to be wrapped up, I'm just like any other mom. An emergency blanket on the carpet could also come in handy."
Seemingly undeterred by the challenges of juggling a high-ranking political career and motherhood, she believes "it's possible to achieve a successful balance." Her party's leader, Friedrich Merz, is on board with this idea too. As the CDU is often referred to as the "family party," their goal is to make the political landscape more family-friendly.
With evening appointments and plenary sessions stacking up, Stumpp has enlisted a babysitter's help. She acknowledges that there's much work left to be done, stating, "We're currently engaging with several decision-makers in German Bundestag to establish sustainable policies to support young parents in holding public office and raising their children."
Another practical goal: establishing a playground for children at the Reichstag.
