During the launch of Kompany, - Eberl suggests potential Bayern transfers.
Bayern Munich made a new appointment for their head coach after a thorough search. On Thursday, it was officially announced that Vincent Kompany, age 38, would take over from Thomas Tuchel, 50, in Munich.
The sports director, Max Eberl, spoke about Kompany's integration into their squad plans, saying: "Of course, he's become a part of our squad strategy now. Plus, we've had quite a few deeply-engaging conversations about our team over the last few days and weeks. While the search for a coach has been very prominent in the media, Christoph and I have also been focusing on the squad and trying to find a coach who fits in well."
Eberl clarified that they've been making progress in this area and are further along than some may think.
With the team's future, he shared, "One often speaks of a radical overhaul, but that's a rather harsh term. We're not creating a strike list, but there will likely be some players who won't find it so easy. This is about elite-level sports."
Eberl continued to emphasize that they've already made strides in their squad planning.
From Burnley, a team that experienced relegation from the Premier League, Vincent Kompany signed with Bayern Munich for around 10.5 million euros in release fees and bonuses, committing to the club until 2027.
Kompany shared his vision for his team: "Training like you play, that's how it starts. Growing up in Brussels and being in Anderlecht's academy, we were always expected to win everything. We intend to be bold and assertive. That reflects my personality: being confident with the ball and aggressive. We want to bring this mindset to all matches."
This also extends to any future player signings, he expressed.
