TikTok is particularly attractive for influencers because it's where they can focus their whole day on the social media platform. With a whopping 1.6 billion users and over 850 million downloads, you can also achieve massive reach here.
The Creator Fund
There's a cool way to make cash via the Creator Fund on TikTok. Not everyone qualifies though:
- You gotta have a personal account, nothing for businesses
- Gotta be at least 18 years old
- Gotta have 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last month
- Videos need to be at least a minute long
- Need to follow their rules
- Gotta live in the US, UK, France, Spain, Germany, or Italy
To apply for this Creator Fund, just head to the TikTok menu under Tools and Creativity Funds. Once you get in, TikTok will give you money for creating short, original videos.
Live streaming
Got at least 1,000 followers? Great! Now you can make money through live streams! Your viewers can purchase coins that they can later use as gifts during your streams. You can then exchange these donations for cash.
Profit through collaborations
Brands might hire you to be their ambassador in your TikTok videos. But watch out! You gotta label it!
Reach out to brands yourself and negotiate a deal. Since you're a smaller account, don't count on them coming to you first.
Make money with audio
It's amazing how much TikTok relies on music. Many creators even create their own songs that sometimes make it into the charts. So it makes sense that the app pays you for using your audio.
How much cash can you really make on TikTok?
It's hard to say exactly how much you can earn on TikTok, but there are some general guidelines. To make a decent income, you'll need at least 10,000 followers.
Income from the Creator Fund can range from two to four cents per 1,000 views. With 100,000 views, you'd make two to four euros. On top of that, you can earn money through collaborations and tips in live streams.
Are my TikTok earnings taxable?
You've got cash, now what? If you're consistently cranking out videos and earning money, you gotta pay taxes on your income. How much tax you pay depends on your earnings.
There may also be sales tax and business tax. Basically, your activities as a TikTok influencer are subject to sales tax. However, this only applies if your income tops 24,500 euros.
