Football: Latest News and Updates - Dynamo Dresden captain Kutschke signs contract extension.
Stefan Kutschke is sticking around at Dynamo Dresden, a third-division soccer club, for another year. This news was shared by the team on Saturday prior to their Saxony Cup final against FC Erzgebirge Aue (3:45 pm live stream on ARD and MDR). The announcement didn't mention for how long the 35-year-old player will continue to be a part of the team. Dynamo is now quiet about the contract details.
David Fischer, the Managing Director of Communications at Dynamo, expressed their sentiments about Kutschke through a press release: "At our sports community, we frequently discuss our values and what makes our club unique. Stefan perfectly represents these qualities on and off the field. He's an integral part of our team, not only as a player on the green turf showcasing his skills that contribute to our victories, but also as a team leader, a point of contact within the team, and a mentor to the young generation."
Throughout the season, Kutschke and his family faced immense hostility and threatening letters over and over again. He played in 37 out of 38 games last season and scored 14 goals. Additionally, he provided assists for five other goals. So far, Kutschke has played 128 times for Dynamo, scoring 46 goals.
