Kickers take on VfB II in a match. - Duel for advancing to the third division over a long distance.

On the brink of promotion to the third division, Stuttgarter Kickers stand at the summit of the table with a total of 63 points. Their biggest contender, VfB U21, sits in second place, just one point behind. In the last matchday, the two teams face FC Homburg and TSG Hoffenheim II, respectively.

Interestingly, the home game for Stuttgart is not actually played in their "home" stadium. Due to the preparations for the upcoming European Championship, Robert-Schlienz-Stadion is unavailable for VfB II. GAZi Stadium, which will serve as a training center for the Swiss national team during the Championships, is also unoccupied.

As a result, the crucial "home game" for Stuttgart's promotion has been rescheduled to Reutlingen. The match would have been impossible to play in Stuttgart anyway, as VfB were hosting Bundesliga giants Borussia Mönchengladbach in the neighboring MHPArena on the same day.

Notably, Stuttgart has acquired their license for the 3rd division, but the final exciting chapter for their promotion will be scripted on Saturday.
