Competition devoid of Werder forward - Ducksch suppresses EM's irritation.
At 1 p.m., national coach Julian Nagelsmann unveiled the preliminary European Championship team. There was no representative from Bremen's 27-player roster: Marvin Ducksch (30).
Ducksch made his international debut against Turkey in November. Although he had been absent from the March matches due to an extended drought, he slowly began to regain his best form. Sadly, he was still unable to generate any genuine optimism.
Ducksch Laughs Off His Frustration
Coach Ole Werner rallies for Ducksch: "The competition is intense. Marvin can be proud of this season. He's come a long way and earned international recognition."
In place of Ducksch, Undav (Stuttgart) and Beier (Hoffenheim) were chosen for the championship, a goal Ducksch had been striving to achieve. Despite his setback, Ducksch remains resilient: "It's a dream come true. If you have the opportunity to secure a spot, you should take it."
Despite the disappointment, what will this setback mean for Ducksch's performance against Bochum?
Clemens Fritz, Werder's professional manager, is reassuring: "I don't think it'll affect him. He's mentally strong enough to overcome it."
