Leaping Competition in Hamburg - Drama occurs during Samba's triumphant crash.

Yuri Mansur's bright yellow jacket radiated happiness as he proudly stood at Derby Park in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek. The 44-year-old family man from São Paulo stated, "All Brazilians feel connected to this tournament. We've grown up watching Nelson Pesoa win the derby and re-watched the broadcasts countless times. Since my first visit in 2015, I've had a strong connection to the Derby."

Unfortunately, the Olympic starter had to hastily leave for his plane and nearly left behind his new luxury watch at the press conference. However, André Thieme (49) from Mecklenburg called after him. Thieme took third place with Chakaria (14) – 11 hundredths behind the 2012 Olympic champion Steve Guerdat (41/Switzerland) on Lancelotta (11). "If I had finished second with such a significant deficit, I would have been frustrated. But I'm content with third place."

Unfortunate mishaps: Eventing rider Sandra Auffarth (37) speedily rode Quirici H (13) in the jump-off but incurred a knockdown just before the finish. Guerdat candidly admitted, "Sandra would've made all of us look like amateurs."

Stunning accident: Irish rider Trevor Breen (45) and his gelding Highland President (12) had a severe fall at an oxer. The horse quickly got up. Breen, however, remained down. Paramedics rushed to the scene, and the area was covered with tarps by helpers.

After approximately half an hour of concern, Breen was transported to Altona Hospital, accompanied by thunderous applause from the 24,000 attendees. He was responsive, had stable circulation, and could move all his limbs. However, Dr. Ricarda Schwarzkopf, the tournament's physician, went with him to the hospital.

Derby director Volker Wulff (67): "He felt back pain. It's believed to be sprains and bruises. And he'll undergo a CT scan as a precaution. The horse is recovering significantly faster than Trevor."
