DraftKings Supports Two Cars in New Hampshire NASCAR Competition

DraftKings enters the NASCAR sponsorship arena with a bang, becoming the official sponsor of two cars racing in this weekend's Crayon 301 Cup Series event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The gaming company joins forces with 23XI Racing, a team co-owned by basketball legend Michael Jordan and current NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin, to sponsor Tyler Reddick's #45 car and Bubba Wallace's #23 vehicle.

The DraftKings branding and vibrant colors will be displayed prominently on the car wraps and firesuits of both Reddick and Wallace. This partnership is in line with other gaming companies coming onboard. For instance, BetMGM struck a deal with Richard Childress Racing in 2021 to become an associate sponsor.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway offers the perfect platform for DraftKings, as their headquarters are only a short distance away in Boston. In May, VSiN, also known as the Vegas Sports Information Network, sealed a deal with Binnie Media, one of the largest radio station operators in New Hampshire. As a result, VSiN Radio 106.3-FM will deliver 24/7 sports and wagering programming. This couldn't come at a better time, as DraftKings is offering odds of +1800 for Reddick to win, or a $1,800 premium for a $100 wager, while Wallace's chances stand at +3000, meaning you could win $3,000 by betting $100.

Reddick's best finish at New England's track was 10th in August 2020, driving for RCR. In his most recent three races at NHMS, Wallace's top result was third place, and his worst was 26th.

NASCAR has shown a greater inclination towards regulated sports betting and its associated entities since the collapse of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) in 2018. Apart from BetMGM and DraftKings sponsoring Cup Series rides this year, gaming companies or venues have sponsored four races on this year's schedule, including two playoff races: the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by Barstool Sportsbook at Kansas Speedway and the South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 15th.

Gaming Companies Expanding NASCAR Sponsorships

DraftKings and BetMGM aren't the first gaming companies to extend their reach to NASCAR's top series, but their sponsorships do highlight an increased presence among racing's elite. Besides, NASCAR has become increasingly supportive of regulated sports betting since the repeal of PASPA in 2018, with four races sponsored by gaming companies or venues, with two of them being playoff events.

Seemingly, DraftKings is well-positioned to capitalize on their geographical advantage - both their headquarters and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway are in the same region. The gaming company has been awarded contracts for 24/7 sports and wagering programming on New Hampshire's VSiN Radio 106.3-FM. While some challenges have surfaced, the overall relationship between NASCAR and gaming companies promises to be a long, productive one.
