Denmark's new King Frederik X (56) celebrated his first birthday as monarch on Sunday, surrounded by his family on the balcony of Amalienborg Castle in Copenhagen. Frederik, his wife Mary (52), and their children - Crown Prince Christian (18), Princess Isabella (17), and twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent (13) - looked happy as they waved to the crowd below.
The friendly wave of the royal family seemed to be dismissing any worries they might have. Everyone anxiously gathered to catch a glimpse of the royal clan.
Queen Margrethe (84) and Queen Mary also joined them on the balcony, adding to the vibrant display. Both queens chose to wear pink outfits, creating a harmonious color scheme.

The recent controversy surrounding Frederik has apparently passed, and the royal couple is back to showcasing their affection for one another.
